Please read the following carefully.  After you signed up for a free trial account, you'll receive a welcome email with your login information. Have the information ready, click on the Log In Now link below to open a new window, and then log into your account. You will be led to your site manager. With both windows open, switch back to this page to get started. We recommend you follow the order numbered below.

Email Account Setup:
 
The following email setup instructions are applicable after you placed an order.

Secure & Initialize Your Account
 
The password you received is a default password. Every Beetown My Listings user gets the same default password to start. We highly recommend you change the password immediately. At the site manager, find and click on the Password tool, then enter a new password of your choice. Then click on the Submit New Password button. This action will also initialize your account.
 

 

 
Know Your Environment
 
Your site manager is wrapped around by the default template (01 Allegro). The links you see on the top part of the page and the left sidebar are what your visitors will use to navigate around your site. Everything inside the white background area is your site manager. The links inside this area are for customizing and managing your site. For example, the About Me link on top of the page functions differently than the About Me link inside the content area. The latter is for editing the content.
 
If you happen to wander off to the visitors section of the site and want to get back into your site manager, simply scroll down to the bottom of any page and find the text link named Site. Use it to return to your site manager. A simple way for identifying whether you are inside the site manager is to look for the black horizontal bar titled Site Manager.
 
The Site link at the bottom of every page does not always lead you directly to your site manager. "Cookies" are set on your browser to tell the software that you are logged in. The "cookies" will expire when you close all browser windows or shut down your computer. When that happens, the Site link will take you to the login page instead of the site manager menu.
 
To navigate around your site manager, you can either return to the menu by using the bread-crumb trail under the black horizonatal bar or use the drop-down menu to the right.
 

 

 
Look n Feel
 
The Site Preferences tool allows you to select template, select color scheme, and change other site-wide settings.
 
Site Template: Use the drop-down menu to select a template. If you don't remember which number corresponds to which template you saw in our demo sites, simple try each one. You'll see the effect immediately after you clicked on the "Submit Form" button at the bottom of the page. If you haven't ordered Beetown My Listings and is just trying the service, you won't see your personalized images (picture and name) on top of the page. Instead, you'll see a generic picture with the words "My Listings" next to it.
 
Color Scheme: There are 9 color schemes available for each template. Each color scheme has two shades. That means, in theory, you have 81 possible color combinations avaiable for each template. You can select the matching pair or be brave and experiment with any combination. Look for the color guide in the tool to help you find the perfect match.
 
Text: Select the desired font style and font size. If you're not sure, just experiment.
 
Copyright Year: A copyright statement is shown at the bottom of every page. Enter the copyright year of your choice.
 
Franchise Logo: Use the drop-down menu to select your franchise logo. If you don't see your franchise's logo or do not want one displayed, select "None". If the one you want is not listed, feel free to notify Support for possible addition. You'll find the Support link from your site manager menu.
 
Slogan: A space is allocated on top of every page for you to post a slogan (motto). Make it short and sweet, space is limited. A hand full of words is a good guideline.
 
Site Information: The next 3 sections (Site Title, Site Description, Site Keywords) are settings that allow search engines to find your site. Follow the guidelines in the tool.
 
Don't forget to click on the "Submit Form" button at the bottom of the page when done. Otherwise, your changes won't be registered. If you don't see the changes, click Reload on your browser to update the page.
 

 

 
About Me
 
Use this tool to enter or edit content for your About Me page. Note that your About Me page is also your home page. We recommend you enter information such as your biography, philosophy, and mission here. You can enter multiple paragraphs. A small set of text enhancement code is provide to make your page layout more appealing. Use the reference table below or the one in the tool to help compose your text.

You can upload one photo to be displayed on the right side of your About Me page. This can be your portrait, your favorite property, a montage, or anything else you can imagine. Make sure the photo you want to upload meets the requirements stated in the tool.
 
Don't forget to click on the "Submit Form" button at the bottom of the page when done. Otherwise, your changes won't be registered. If you don't see the changes, click Reload on your browser to update the page.
 

 

 
Contact Me
 
Use this tool to enter or edit content for your Contact Me page. In this tool, you'll find a text input box followed by a number of input fields, then another text input box. The Contact Me page will show your content in that order. We highly recommend you enter the information in the input fields. Entering content into the top and bottom text areas is optional. If you decide to use the text area, a small set of text enhancement code is provide to make your page layout more appealing. Use the reference table below or the one in the tool to help compose your text.

It is recommended that you test your Contact Me form by going to the form and send yourself a message.
 

 

 
Testimonials
 
This is where you enter testimonials from your clients or associates. There is a limited number of spots available. Refer to the note in the tool for the maximum limit.
 
Don't forget to click on the "Submit Form" button at the bottom of the page when done. Otherwise, your changes won't be registered. If you don't see the changes, click Reload on your browser to update the page.
 

 

 
My Listings
 
Use this tool to enter data and upload photos for your property listings. You can add, edit, and delete listings.
 
If this is the first time you use this tool, you won't see any listings on the index page. Find and click on the Add New Listings link and start building your list.
 
On the listings index page, click on the Edit icon to edit the corresponding listing. To delete one or more listings, check the box(es) in the Del column and scroll down to click on the "Delete Selected Item(s)" button.
 

 

 
Featured Home
 
Use this tool to enter or edit your Featured Home page. Make sure the property you want to feature is already in your listings database (see My Listings section above).
 
All you have to do is select the MLS number of the property you are featuring from your listings database. No need to re-enter detail information for the property. There is a text input box for you to enter special text to highlight the property.
 
Don't forget to click on the "Submit Form" button at the bottom of the page when done. Otherwise, your changes won't be registered. If you don't see the changes, click Reload on your browser to update the page.
 

 

 
Open House
 
Use this tool to enter or edit your open house schedule. You can add, edit, and delete. Make sure the properties you want to show are already in your listings database (see My Listings section above)
 
Enter the open house date, day of the week, and time. Use the text input box to enter any special information such as driving directions and greeting notes. Select the MLS number from a list of existing listings. No need to re-enter detail information for the property.
 
Don't forget to click on the "Submit Form" button at the bottom of the page when done. Otherwise, your changes won't be registered. If you don't see the changes, click Reload on your browser to update the page.
 

 

 
Resources
 
This tool allows you to manage both the Buyer's Resources section and the Seller's Resources section. You can add, edit, and delete items.
 
There should already be some online resources listed. You can either keep them and add more, or delete and enter your own favorite links.
 
Prepare to enter four pieces of information for each entry: Web address, site title, site description, and category. You also need to indicate if the resource is for buyers, sellers, or both.
 
On the rsources index page, click on the Edit icon to edit the corresponding link. To delete one or more links, check the box(es) in the Del column and scroll down to click on the "Delete Selected Item(s)" button.
 

 

 
Logout When Done
 
To ensure that your data is secure, please log out when done managing your site by use the Logout link on the upper right corner of your site manager.
 

 

 
Future Login
 
There are 2 ways you can access your site manager:
 
1. Go to www.beetown.com/mylistings and use the login box on the sidebar.
 
2. Go to your website using the URL in the welcome email, or your domain name if active. Scroll down to the bottom of any page and click on the text link named Site. Then enter your user name and password.
 

 

 
POP3/SMTP
 
Email account is available only after you placed an order. Trial accounts do not have email capability. These instructions only apply if you use our email system. If you use a third-party email system, contact your third-party provider for setup information.
 
You can access your email using a standard email program such as Microsoft Outlook. Use the following information to help set up your email. For specific setup information for your account, check the activation email you received from us.

Webmail
 
Email account is available only after you placed an order. Trial accounts do not have email capability. These instructions only apply if you use our email system. If you use a third-party email system, contact your third-party provider for setup information.
 
The webmail feature is a free third-party program called SquirrelMail provided to you for your convenience; not supported by Beetown Communications.
 
To access your email on from a browser, type in www.yourdomain.com/squirrelmail. Enter your email address and password (selected during order). Once logged in , you have access to a set of standard email features such as read incoming messages, compose, address book, folders, spam filter, search, and some control over the look and feel of the interface.
 
It is recommended that you create a couple of folders: Sent for capturing email messages you sent, and Trash for storing email messages you deleted.
 

 

 
Email Manager
 
Email account is available only after you placed an order. Trial accounts do not have email capability. These instructions only apply if you use our email system. If you use a third-party email system, contact your third-party provider for setup information.
 
Although the email manager is not necessary for using your email system, it allows you to access other features such as auto-responder, vacation message, unlimited aliases, and email forwarding. You can gain access to the email manager by logging on to www.yourdomain.com/user. Login name and password are the choices you made during order.
 
Once logged in, click on the Email link on the left sidebar to view the features. Following the instructions in the program to set up various functions.
